چکیده
Abstract. Porous ceramics are recognized to have the potential be used for a wide variety of industrial applications, such as catalyst support and molten metal filter. It is common practice adjust shape in pre-sintering stage order obtain various configurations but some limitations due premature failure product, marked tool wear or inhomogeneous shrinkage during processing stages may arise, whenever complex requested. Almost same happens case post-sintering machining leading, most cases, an inefficient process characterized by severe poor final product quality. Such problems, related material, material removal modes hence parameters represent huge limitation many applications above materials. Milling alumina-based ceramic foams sintered state focus present work. An experimental campaign has been carried out at fixed axial depth cut, feed rate, number passes, spindle speed under flood lubrication regime varying (aluminum oxide-based, diamond-coated). Tool mechanisms quality investigated through surface analysis verify workability alumina based wear.

The Effects of ZrO2 or Tic on the Performance of the Alumina-Based Ceramic Cutting Tools
Two types of alumina-based cutting tools with compositions of 90 vol.% Al2O3+10 vol.% ZrO2 and 80 vol.% A12O3+20 vol.% TiC are produced by isostatic pressing and sintering technique. The effects of these additives on the mechanical properties and cutting performance of these materials are investigated. The tool life in both materials is examined under identical conditions on cutting a grey cast...

Early types of metal-free ceramics did not enjoy success in dentistry, especially in the posterior region (Shimada et al., 2002). The high crystalline content ceramic systems have been developed in an attempt to improve the strength of metal-free restorations as well as deliver more esthetic results than conventional metal-fused-to-ceramic restorations (Ozcan et al., 2001; Valandro et al., 2006...
متن کاملMechanical properties of highly porous alumina foams
The mechanical properties of porous ceramics are greatly influenced by their microstructure. Therefore, mechanical behavior of highly porous ceramics is different from that of dense ceramics. In this work, we evaluate different mechanical testing methods such as static compression, Brazilian disc test and 3-point bending on their suitability for comparison of highly porous ceramic materials. It...
متن کاملStructures and Properties of Alumina-Based Ceramic for Reconstructive Oncology
The microstructure of alumina ceramics based on powders with a varying grain size has been investigated. Both commercial alumina powders and those fabricated by denitration of aluminum salts in high-frequency discharge plasma were used. It is shown that the variation of the sintering temperature and morphology of the initial powders of the particles leads to a change of the pore structure of ce...
